We are facing critical job shortages in Sonoma County. As our economy
begins a slow recovery, many of our friends and neighbors remain out
of work with few prospects. There is hope at the end of this tunnel,
but only if our county government makes real efforts to create good
jobs for our residents.
As Mayor of Petaluma, I worked with the City Council and the community to use
every tool at our disposal to create new jobs. We secured federal and state funding
for transportation infrastructure projects, such as the East Washington/Highway
101 Interchange, the Marin-Sonoma Narrows, and the reconstruction of Washington
Street. We also led the effort to streamline the development approval process
to encourage new construction projects in Petaluma and utilized innovative planning
techniques to revitalize Downtown Petaluma, bringing a theater and mixed-use
development that created jobs for our community.
Organizations and residents in Sonoma County have recognized this record of real
results creating jobs and spurring economic development. That's why our
campaign has been endorsed by the Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1575, Painters
and Tapers Local 83, Teamsters Local No. 624, UA Local 483 Sprinkler Fitters,
United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting
Industry, and the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America Local
Union No. 751. They know that we need good jobs in Sonoma County and
real leadership that will push to make this happen.
Please join them in endorsing our campaign by visiting our website at www.Vote4Pam.net,
where you can also sign up to volunteer, agree to take a lawn sign, and make
a contribution to the campaign. Together, we will protect Sonoma County's quality
of life while creating new jobs and maintaining a sustainable future.
